Junior Comment You can walk across to the island at low tide. You will find a little village around the harbour. At the entrance you can watch a film all about the St. Michaels Mount and its legends. The climb up to the Castle is steep and rocky in places. You can do a children’s trail which takes you past the giant’s stone heart. The Castle is brilliant. It has a chapel and lots of interesting things inside. The secret walled garden is around the back of the island and has lots of tropical plants and little animals to discover. You can catch a little boat back to the mainland if the tide has come in. There is also a café which sells great cakes!
